Mini Hand Sanitizers

Flu season is here in all it’s coughing, sniffling glory so it’s important to keep our hands clean. Since it’s not always practical or possible to wash our hands every hour of the day, I like to keep a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my bags. They come in pretty handy when there’s no soap in poorly managed public restrooms, or there isn’t one to begin with. You can’t beat hot water and soap, but in a pinch these can be a lifesaver. I got these mini sized hand sanitizers at Nature Republic, and they come in lots of different scents. Because they’re so small and light it’s easy to take one along even when I’m using a mini crossbody bag.

  • I love mini hand sanitizers, they’re really nice to have on hand (plus there’s always so many fun scents!).

I know right! For the past few months I’ve been using ‘peach’ and ‘cherry blossoms,’ but I think I want to change things up for the summer. What scents do you like for your mini hand sanitizers?

  • These look so cute and I bet the scents smell great. I carry a hand sanitizer from the Honest Co. which I spray religiously when I get off the train if I can’t wash my hands right away. I take echinacea and oscillococcinum at the first sign of any symptoms that even resemble the flu.

I saw on the news that anywhere you can grip inside public transportation is a hot bed of germs, so I definitely feel you there! I haven’t tried a spray type sanitizer before, but it sounds like it would be more convenient than a gel type. I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled to see if I can find some here in Korea ;)

  • I love carrying mini hand sanitizers (especially when I travel). It’s such an uncomfortable feeling when my hands are grimey and feel gross but I can’t wash them right away, haha.

I know I hate it when I forget to bring hand sanitizer and I’m in a sticky situation where I can’t wash my hands. My brother scoffed at it when he saw me bringing it to our trip to Europe, but he later admitted how handy they came in when we struggled to find bathrooms there!

  • My boyfriend is obsessed with hand sanitisers so I always have a couple in my handbag. I find they dry my skin out though. How are these ones? They do seem like they would smell amazing!

    • Kim

These ones aren’t quite as drying, but I think it depends on the condition of my hands too. I like to carry a small tube of hand cream too. You could try finding a scent that matches your hand sanitizer ;)

  • Hand sanitizers are a godsend for public transportation.

    • Kim

Definitely, especially with all those grimey handles you have to hold on to!

  • I love wonderful scented hand sanitizers!! The B&BW sanitzers are great products but these look great aswell :) By the way I nominated you for the Liebster award because your blog is so amazing and I love reading!! :) http://alongcamekathy.blogspot.co.nz/2016/03/the-liebster-tag.html

Ahhh thanks Kathy! I’m sorry I dropped off the radar for a few months, I’ve been finishing up my thesis so it’s been crazy around here!

  • Mini-hand sanitizers are so convenient!

    • Kim

They really are! I like that they’re so easy to tuck into virtually any bag, even the mini bags that are all the rage these days ;)

  • A Nature Republic opened up near me! I stopped by a couple of times and it was pretty cool inside. Will have to keep an eye out for these hand sanitizers next time I drop by! So far I’ve tried their armpit whitening kit which didn’t work for me at all and some snail cream which was okay.

Ahh yeah sometimes their products can be hit or miss :P
I hope they have the hand sanitizers at your location! They have so many different scents so it’s fun to choose from!

  • Mini hand sanitizers are great, especially the non sticky ones.
I really love citrus-y(?) types, if I ever spot a decent grapefruit hand sanitizer I’d buy it!

    • Kim

Definitely, it always annoys me when I try a hand sanitizer and it leaves my hands feeling sticky. Thankfully the ones by Nature Republic don’t leave any residue at all:D
I can’t remember if they had grapefruit, but they do have a lot of fruity scents!

  • I have so many mini hand sanitizers stocked up in my bathroom cabinets haha! I seriously take them everywhere though, you never know when you’ll need some!

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the Liebster Award! I LOVED your calligraphy series, you already know that I love your blog design, and, basically, I thought you deserved it! You can find more details in my latest blog post!

I have around five right now so I don’t have to rummage through all of my bags if I can’t remember which one I used last lol. It’s nice to just keep one in each bag so you don’t have to worry about it when you’re running out the door ;) Thanks for the kind words Corin! I know I’ve been off the radar for the past few months but I hope to get things going and finish up my calligraphy series ;)

  • Flu season is definitely over now, but allergy season isn’t! EEEEKKKS! Thanks for visiting my blog BTW! I hope to see you blog some more sometime!

    • Kim

Oh god I hate dealing with allergies :((
My eyes get impossibly itchy and watery when allergies hit and allergy medication is always SO STRONG. Ugh! It’s summer now so I it’s goodbye allergies and hello mosquito bites lol. Must we always be tormented by one thing or another? :P

  • I ALWAYS have a bottle of sanitizer in my bag. It’s been a pretty bad season for illness in the USA this year, even more so than usual, it seems. I got my flu shot and liberally take vitamin C to try to keep the flu/illness at bay when people around me are under the weather.

    • Kim

I was living off of ginger lemon tea this past spring because I didn’t get my flu shot last fall. I actually got a really bad cold at the tail end of summer last year that lasted SO LONG it wasn’t even funny. So I missed the whole flu shot thing, so I’ve been keen on drinking tea with lots of vitamin C!
